The Wide Screen series represented a significant leap forward in the Game & Watch format. By expanding the LCD display horizontally, Nintendo's designers were able to create more expansive game environments. This is the largest series in the Game & Watch lineup, comprising 17 games released over an extended period.

Wide Screen games are recognisable by their landscape-format LCD panel. The wider display allowed for more complex scenarios, and several titles in this series became among the best-selling Game & Watch games ever produced. The series also includes re-releases and updates of earlier titles.
