The Tabletop series was one of the most distinctive departures in the Game & Watch lineup. Rather than a handheld, these were larger self-standing units designed to sit on a flat surface. Each unit contained a backlit colour display shining through a translucent screen, creating a vivid, arcade-like visual experience.
Four games were released in the Tabletop series, all in 1983. The series includes licensed titles such as Donkey Kong Jr and Snoopy. Because these units were designed to rest on a surface, they incorporated a kickstand and used four AA batteries.
